GRAINS AND HAY  2026

Entries accepted: Thursday, October 8, 2026, 7 pm to 9 pm and Friday, October 9, 2026, 9 am to 12 noon.
Articles must not be removed until closing, Monday, October 12, 2026 at 5:00 pm.
● Grain and Hay exhibits are to be 2026 crops.
●  Open to all Residents / Farmers in the area. One entry per farm.

Section 1:
Prizes: 1st: $15, 2nd: $12, 3rd: $10, 4th: $8
1. Soy Beans - 10 stocks, tied - variety named
2. Soy Beans - 500 ml jar - variety named
3. Soy Beans - White Hilun - 500 ml container - variety named

Section 2:
Prizes: 1st: $8, 2nd: $6, 3rd: $4
4. Corn - 8 whole plants. Tied - variety named
5. Corn - largest stalk in diameter - 12" from ground
6. Corn - shortest stalk - with cob(s). Root must be attached.
7. Corn - tallest stalk - no root
8. Corn - ensilage - bunker - processed
9. 1 Quart of black oil sunflower seeds.
10. Corn - high moisture - 1 litre/quart container
11. Hay - 1st cut, one slice tied, round bail piece in similar size
12. Hay - 2nd or 3rd cut, one slice tied, round bail piece in similar size
13. Haleage - 1/4 bushel - container of your choice
14. Baleage - 1/4 bushel - container of your choice
15. 1 Quart of any edible bean in glass jar, named.
16. TMR mixed - 1/2 bushel - container of your choice
17. 6 Ears of corn, any variety, displayed on a tray.
18. Straw - small square - brightest & cleanest
19. 1 Quart white winter wheat in a glass jar, named.
20. Largest ball of Twine

Most Points sections 1-20 Prize: $50
Where prizes are given on points: 1st - 4 points, 2nd - 3 points, 3rd - 1 point.


Section 3
EGGS:

Eggs should be clean, but NOT washed, no visible dirt, stains or shiny surfaces.
Prizes: 1st: $6, 2nd: $5, 3rd: $4
21. 6 White hen eggs, displayed in 1/2 egg carton.
22. 6 Brown hen eggs, displayed in a 1/2 egg carton
23. 6 Eggs, any other kind (not hen) displayed in a 1/2 egg carton

DORCHESTER FAIR
OAAS MAPLE SYRUP COMPETITION:

24. OAAS Maple Syrup Competition
Prizes: 1st: $15, 2nd: $12, 3rd: $10
Pure Maple Syrup - Canada Grade A - Amber.
One (1) curved Kent style glass bottle (D&G#505188) syrup bottle with handle.
Jar is to be a minimum capacity size of 8 oz/250 ml.

DORCHESTER FAIR OAAS HONEY COMPETITION:

25. OAAS Liquid Honey Competition Prizes: 1st: $15, 2nd: $12, 3rd: $10
Pure, Ontario #1, White
One (1) clear glass container. Jar is to be a minimum capacity of 500 grams (375 ml).
