NON-COMPETITIVE SECTION - DORCHESTER SCHOOLS ONLY
Entry forms, exhibitor's number and entry tags are not required FOR THIS SECTION ONLY but the following information must appear on the bottom RIGHT hand corner of the work: Child's first name and last initial, School name, Teacher's name and classroom number. Each participating school will receive a donation from the Homecraft Division of N.D.A.S.
CLASSROOM PROJECTS ARE TO BE READY FOR PICKUP BY OCTOBER 5, 2026.
Sections:
1. Junior & Senior Kindergarten - Anything on murals - painted BLUE
2. Grade 1 - Geometric shapes showing repetition, mixing primary colours.
3. Grade 2 - Lines inside shapes - secondary colors light to dark mixing tints.
4. Grade 3 - "What is at the Fair"- a scene using foreground, middle ground and background.
5. Grade 4 - Art showing lines or repetition of colour.
6. Grade 5 - Emphasis on colour intensity and a focal point.
7. Grade 6 - Art showing shading that suggests volume, gradation.
8. Grade 7 - Create an icon/logo - watercolour, decoupage, or tissue paper - individual or on a large mural.
9. Grade 8 - 12" x 12" Square Barn Quilt Art showing "movement". Sketched and coloured OR using cut out geometric shapes.
10. Grades 9/10 and 11/12 - A display of class projects.
COMPETITIVE SECTION
Entries accepted: Thursday October 8, 2026, 7 pm to 9 pm and Friday, October 9, 2026, 9 am to 12 noon.
Articles must not be removed until closing, Monday October 12, 2026 at 5:00 pm.
Entries in Class A Competitive Section require entry tags with class, section, and exhibitor's number. This can be obtained by contacting the Secretary/Treasurer.
Preschool - Children 5 years of age and under as of September 1st, 2026:
Prizes: 1st: $2.50, 2nd: $2.00, 3rd: $1.50, 4th: $1.25, 5th: $1.00
11. 3 leaves painted white, decorated as ghosts, on a coloured paper plate.
12. Paper bag farm animal.
13. First letter of your name with colourful buttons mounted on a recycled item.
14. Trace one foot onto cardstock, no larger than 12" x 12", decorate

18. Hand painted stone.

Prize: $20
To consist of a 4H, Girl Guide, Boy Scout, Thames Centre Junior Optimist, or Youth Group project completed after October 2025. Each club will receive $20.00 for all worthy displays. Display to use backboard or poster - display area is 36" wide - name of club/group must be included. Limit of 1 display per club/group.
